Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Textile and Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442), which rose 9.84% or 0.95 points to trade at 10.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TW:4725) added 8.69% or 2.75 points to end at 34.40 and Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) was up 6.25% or 16.50 points to 280.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Everlight Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2393), which fell 10.00% or 3.50 points to trade at 31.50 at the close. Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) declined 9.94% or 3.30 points to end at 29.90 and Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439) was down 9.22% or 2.70 points to 26.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 578 to 217 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.84% or 0.95 to 10.60. Shares in Everlight Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2393) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.00% or 3.50 to 31.50. Shares in Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.94% or 3.30 to 29.90.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.71% or 0.48 to $68.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.58% or 0.43 to hit $75.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1195.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.19% to 30.771, while TWD/CNY rose 0.36% to 0.2232.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 95.39.
