Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Cement & Glass and Cement sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Kinko Optical (TW:6209), which rose 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) added 10.00% or 1.45 points to end at 15.95 and Aces Elec (TW:3605) was up 9.94% or 2.30 points to 25.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aver (TW:3669), which fell 9.98% or 2.25 points to trade at 20.30 at the close. Formosa Lab (TW:4746) declined 9.94% or 9.90 points to end at 89.70 and Space Shuttle (TW:2440) was down 5.31% or 0.46 points to 8.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 508 to 251 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kinko Optical (TW:6209) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 2.20 to 24.20.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.12% or 0.94 to $45.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.50% or 0.24 to hit $47.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.30% or 3.95 to trade at $1330.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.36% to 31.384, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2126.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.72.
