Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Hotels and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.99% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which rose 9.98% or 8.60 points to trade at 94.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Chia Her Industrial (TW:1449) added 9.96% or 0.50 points to end at 5.52 and Kao Hsing Chan (TW:2008) was up 9.95% or 1.05 points to 11.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were I-Hwa Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1456), which fell 5.23% or 0.80 points to trade at 14.50 at the close. Global Lightin (TW:4935) declined 4.36% or 2.90 points to end at 63.60 and Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) was down 3.59% or 0.65 points to 17.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 469 to 279 and 130 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $53.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $55.44 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.92% or 11.10 to trade at $1216.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.44% to 31.392, while TWD/CNY fell 0.69% to 0.2174.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 100.23.
