Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.37%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Auto, Hotels and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.37% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tycoons Group Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2022), which rose 10.00% or 0.500 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) added 10.00% or 0.83 points to end at 9.13 and China Electric Manufacturing Corp (TW:1611) was up 9.93% or 0.80 points to 8.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kuangli Photoelectric Tech (TW:6431), which fell 8.86% or 1.05 points to trade at 10.80 at the close. Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW:1516) declined 2.70% or 0.45 points to end at 16.20 and Lumax (TW:6192) was down 2.63% or 1.60 points to 59.30.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 474 to 276 and 126 ended unchanged.

Shares in Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 0.83 to 9.13.

Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.33% or 0.17 to $51.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.35% or 0.19 to hit $54.34 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.05 to trade at $1249.45 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 30.194, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2272.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.30.
