Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.36%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Electricity and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.36%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Airmate (TW:1626), which rose 9.94% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Yageo Corp (TW:2327) added 9.93% or 7.40 points to end at 81.90 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was up 9.87% or 2.75 points to 30.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Jui Li (TW:1512), which fell 9.36% or 0.72 points to trade at 6.97 at the close. Chung Fu (TW:1435) declined 7.59% or 0.500 points to end at 6.090 and 1St Copper Tec (TW:2009) was down 5.83% or 0.70 points to 11.30.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 409 to 348 and 121 ended unchanged.

Shares in Yageo Corp (TW:2327) rose to all time highs; rising 9.93% or 7.40 to 81.90. Shares in Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.87% or 2.75 to 30.60.

Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.56% or 0.30 to $53.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.50% or 0.28 to hit $55.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.55 to trade at $1233.05 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 30.975, while TWD/CNY fell 0.89% to 0.2221.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 101.50.
