Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Hotels, Other and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Action Eltr (TW:3024), which rose 10.00% or 0.380 points to trade at 4.180 at the close. Meanwhile, Jenn Feng (TW:1538) added 10.00% or 0.51 points to end at 5.61 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was up 9.37% or 0.39 points to 4.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475), which fell 9.06% or 1.15 points to trade at 11.55 at the close. Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) declined 6.23% or 1.60 points to end at 24.10 and Elite Adv Lase (TW:3450) was down 5.58% or 7.00 points to 118.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 395 to 351 and 109 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.50% or 0.25 to hit $49.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1327.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 31.669, while TWD/CNY rose 0.24% to 0.2106.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.56.
