Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Iron & Steel, Textile and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chenming Mold (TW:3013), which rose 10.00% or 1.80 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Jenn Feng (TW:1538) added 10.00% or 0.58 points to end at 6.38 and Jung Shing Wir (TW:1617) was up 9.92% or 0.64 points to 7.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 5.56% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.25 at the close. Green Energy (TW:3519) declined 4.76% or 0.85 points to end at 17.00 and Candmark (TW:5259) was down 4.76% or 0.10 points to 2.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 393 to 315 and 136 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jenn Feng (TW:1538) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.00% or 0.58 to 6.38.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.52% or 0.23 to $43.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1319.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.22% to 31.358, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2125.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.72.
