Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Machinery, Glass and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which rose 10.00% or 2.95 points to trade at 32.45 at the close. Meanwhile, PCL Technologies Inc (TW:4977) added 10.00% or 10.50 points to end at 115.50 and Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) was up 9.93% or 4.65 points to 51.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which fell 10.00% or 4.10 points to trade at 36.90 at the close. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) declined 9.70% or 13.00 points to end at 121.00 and Taiwan Mask Corp (TW:2338) was down 9.42% or 1.70 points to 16.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 465 to 309 and 105 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.12% or 0.07 to $56.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $62.18 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.20 to trade at $1250.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.00% to 30.026, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.88.
