Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Plastic and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545), which rose 9.97% or 3.70 points to trade at 40.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Ton Yi Industrial Corp (TW:9907) added 9.94% or 1.80 points to end at 19.90 and Champion Microelectronic Corp (TW:3257) was up 8.26% or 3.80 points to 49.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540), which fell 10.00% or 8.30 points to trade at 74.70 at the close. Hsin Kuang Steel Co Ltd (TW:2031) declined 7.24% or 3.20 points to end at 41.00 and Da-Cin Construction Co Ltd (TW:2535) was down 6.72% or 4.10 points to 56.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Ton Yi Industrial Corp (TW:9907) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.94% or 1.80 to 19.90.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.77% or 0.46 to $60.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.76% or 0.48 to hit $63.32 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 21.81 to trade at $3,327.81 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.56% to 30.11, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.75% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.41.
