Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Trading & Consumer Goods and Information Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mospec (TW:2434), which rose 10.00% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) added 9.99% or 0.78 points to end at 8.59 and Delpha Constr (TW:2530) was up 9.97% or 1.45 points to 16.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aopen (TW:3046), which fell 8.50% or 0.39 points to trade at 4.20 at the close. Gemtek Tech (TW:4906) declined 7.99% or 2.95 points to end at 33.95 and AP Memory Technology Corp (TW:6531) was down 5.23% or 4.00 points to 72.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 422 to 319 and 133 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.99% or 0.78 to 8.59.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.82% or 0.42 to $50.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.80% or 0.43 to hit $53.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1261.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 30.129, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 96.89.
