Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 4.21% or 1.41 points to trade at 34.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) added 2.03% or 2.56 points to end at 128.46 and Svenska Handelsbanken AB A (ST:SHBa) was up 1.59% or 1.9 points to 121.3 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABB Ltd (ST:ABB), which fell 1.91% or 3.9 points to trade at 200.6 at the close. H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb) declined 0.46% or 1.0 points to end at 217.5 and Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb) was down 0.39% or 0.80 points to 206.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 356 to 320 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb) fell to 3-years lows; down 0.46% or 1.0 to 217.5.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.64% or 0.86 to $51.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.73% or 0.95 to hit $53.94 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.05% or 13.60 to trade at $1280.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.14% to 9.6219, while USD/SEK rose 0.34% to 8.9868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 99.74.
