Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA), which rose 3.88% or 6.8 points to trade at 182.1 at the close. Meanwhile, Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) added 2.42% or 3.56 points to end at 150.56 and AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) was up 1.89% or 11.5 points to 619.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nordea Bank AB (ST:NDA), which fell 1.28% or 1.40 points to trade at 108.10 at the close. Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb) declined 1.23% or 2.60 points to end at 208.10 and Essity AB B (ST:ESSITYb) was down 1.23% or 3.00 points to 241.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 373 to 340 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.42% or 3.56 to 150.56. Shares in AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.89% or 11.5 to 619.0. Shares in Essity AB B (ST:ESSITYb) fell to all time lows; down 1.23% or 3.00 to 241.60.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.39% or 0.59 to $43.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.63% or 0.73 to hit $45.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.45 to trade at $1252.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.12% to 9.7586, while USD/SEK rose 0.06% to 8.7529.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.29.
