Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Palm Oil and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) added 50.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.3000 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) was up 25.00% or 2.40 points to 12.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which fell 24.13% or 349.90 points to trade at 1100.00 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 17.81% or 240.60 points to end at 1110.50 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was down 10.00% or 6.00 points to 54.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 91 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; up 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) rose to 52-week highs; up 25.00% or 2.40 to 12.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.90% or 0.43 to $48.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.99% or 0.50 to hit $50.96 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.49 to trade at $1255.51 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 196.395, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 152.060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 98.96.
