Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Power & Energy and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.40% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 25.00% or 21.40 points to trade at 107.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 12.00% or 4.80 points to end at 44.80 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW), which fell 14.86% or 9.60 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) declined 12.50% or 1.00 points to end at 7.00 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) was down 12.24% or 342.70 points to 2457.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 71 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; gaining 25.00% or 21.40 to 107.00. Shares in Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.86% or 9.60 to 55.00. Shares in Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) fell to all time lows; down 12.50% or 1.00 to 7.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.68% or 0.33 to $48.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.80% or 0.41 to hit $51.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1203.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.23% to 183.945, while USD/LKR rose 1.03% to 151.620.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 101.44.
