Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Trading and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which rose 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.100 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 16.66% or 203.90 points to end at 1020.10 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 79 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) rose to 52-week lows; rising 10.00% or 0.100 to 1.100.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.72% or 0.38 to $52.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.15 to trade at $1212.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.51% to 183.960, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 151.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 101.91.
