Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Motors and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI), which rose 19.88% or 34.00 points to trade at 205.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) added 16.84% or 24.50 points to end at 170.00 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) was up 11.34% or 5.40 points to 53.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 12.71% or 211.20 points to trade at 1450.00 at the close. Guardian Capital Partners PLC (CM:WAPO) declined 10.36% or 3.70 points to end at 32.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 75 to 69 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.39% or 0.74 to $52.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.10% or 0.61 to hit $54.88 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.73% or 8.85 to trade at $1213.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 185.240, while USD/LKR fell 0.92% to 148.715.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 100.28.
