Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Palm Oil and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) added 100.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.200 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was up 18.67% or 1.40 points to 8.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 23.86% or 369.80 points to trade at 1180.20 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 21.20% or 366.00 points to end at 1360.60 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was down 13.82% or 152.30 points to 950.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 85 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) fell to 3-years lows; down 21.20% or 366.00 to 1360.60. Shares in Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) rose to 52-week highs; up 18.67% or 1.40 to 8.90. Shares in Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) fell to 3-years lows; falling 13.82% or 152.30 to 950.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.42% or 0.19 to $45.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.54% or 0.26 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.09 to trade at $1222.19 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.25% to 198.605, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.56.
