Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Palm Oil and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) was up 9.22% or 2.70 points to 32.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which fell 15.12% or 2.60 points to trade at 14.60 at the close. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) declined 13.16% or 3.50 points to end at 23.10 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 110 to 64 and 65 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.56% or 0.27 to $47.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.66% or 0.33 to hit $49.79 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.04 to trade at $1291.46 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.21% to 196.725, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 152.425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 96.90.
