Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Plantations and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI), which rose 18.80% or 79.90 points to trade at 505.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 17.24% or 13.00 points to end at 88.40 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 12.50% or 0.1000 points to 0.9000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 15.47% or 8.20 points to end at 44.80 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) was down 10.05% or 2.20 points to 19.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 99 to 87 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.50% or 0.1000 to 0.9000.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.56% or 0.24 to $42.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.78% or 0.35 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.57 to trade at $1252.37 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.00% to 194.030, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 153.160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.22.
