Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Investment Trust and Land & Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 1.01% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 24.80% or 30.30 points to trade at 152.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 17.96% or 8.80 points to end at 57.80 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) was up 16.91% or 9.30 points to 64.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 18.73% or 311.20 points to trade at 1350.00 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 17.64% or 493.90 points to end at 2306.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 176 to 34 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; up 24.80% or 30.30 to 152.50.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.29% or 0.15 to $52.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.40% or 0.22 to hit $55.11 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.74% or 9.60 to trade at $1284.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.58% to 195.445, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 152.260.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 99.52.
