Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Footwear & Textile and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which rose 24.52% or 423.40 points to trade at 2150.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) added 14.87% or 8.40 points to end at 64.90 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was up 12.25% or 189.90 points to 1739.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 114 to 67 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; falling 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) fell to 3-years lows; falling 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.91% or 0.41 to $45.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.88% or 0.42 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.22 to trade at $1243.58 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 199.225, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.52.
