Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Stores & Supplies and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 18.76% or 22.90 points to trade at 145.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 17.50% or 2.10 points to end at 14.10 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU), which fell 8.30% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) declined 7.11% or 3.60 points to end at 47.00 and Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) was down 6.29% or 0.90 points to 13.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 139 to 57 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 17.50% or 2.10 to 14.10.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.25% or 0.60 to $47.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.30% or 0.66 to hit $50.13 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.02% or 12.77 to trade at $1235.73 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.04% to 196.775, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 152.620.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 99.00.
