Sri Lanka stocks higher at close of trade; CSE All-Share up 0.41%

Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Telecoms and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) added 13.86% or 14.00 points to end at 115.00 and Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) was up 11.79% or 2.30 points to 21.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.29% or 558.20 points to trade at 1740.00 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 14.83% or 229.90 points to end at 1320.10 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 63 and 42 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.30% or 0.16 to $52.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $55.58 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1232.15 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.56% to 186.460, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 150.690.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.77% at 100.61.
