Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 22.22% or 0.200 points to end at 1.100 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST), which fell 19.19% or 22.80 points to trade at 96.00 at the close. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 18.67% or 310.20 points to end at 1351.00 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) was down 17.85% or 499.90 points to 2300.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 107 to 55 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) fell to 5-year lows; losing 19.19% or 22.80 to 96.00.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $50.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $53.49 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.95 to trade at $1247.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.47% to 189.765, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 151.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.47.
