Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Motors, Trading and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 19.93% or 59.80 points to end at 359.90 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) was up 17.61% or 7.50 points to 50.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 23.65% or 15.30 points to trade at 49.40 at the close. Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) declined 10.80% or 95.00 points to end at 785.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 73 to 70 and 58 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.72% or 0.39 to $54.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.97% or 0.55 to hit $57.35 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.34% or 16.15 to trade at $1224.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 190.775, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 150.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 99.26.
