Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Information Technology and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) added 9.81% or 26.40 points to end at 295.50 and Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) was up 8.42% or 1.60 points to 20.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 13.69% or 8.20 points to trade at 51.70 at the close. Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) declined 9.79% or 8.90 points to end at 82.00 and Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK) was down 9.09% or 0.80 points to 8.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 79 to 66 and 65 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.52% or 0.67 to $44.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.18% or 0.54 to hit $46.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.31% or 17.15 to trade at $1287.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.19% to 184.670, while USD/LKR rose 0.42% to 148.730.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.74% at 97.66.
