Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Stores & Supplies and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 24.33% or 14.50 points to trade at 74.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 18.00% or 9.90 points to end at 64.90 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 9.09% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) declined 8.16% or 1.60 points to end at 18.00 and Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) was down 8.12% or 3.80 points to 43.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 102 to 72 and 56 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.44% or 0.20 to $45.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.46% or 0.22 to hit $48.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.44 to trade at $1277.06 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 1.32% to 194.430, while USD/LKR rose 0.36% to 152.735.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 97.37.
