Sri Lanka stocks higher at close of trade; CSE All-Share up 0.01%

Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lanka ORIX Finance PLC (CM:LOLF), which rose 15.79% or 0.300 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 22.62% or 16.90 points to trade at 57.80 at the close. Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) declined 14.29% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was down 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 87 to 68 and 62 ended unchanged.

Shares in Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) fell to all time lows; losing 14.29% or 0.200 to 1.200. Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; down 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.80% or 0.39 to $49.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.79% or 0.41 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1232.35 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 0.71% to 189.105, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 151.740.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 99.68.
