Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which rose 17.82% or 59.00 points to trade at 390.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 16.94% or 4.20 points to end at 29.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 23.69% or 93.50 points to end at 301.10 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) was down 8.70% or 10.00 points to 105.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 105 to 52 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 17.82% or 59.00 to 390.00. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.53% or 0.34 to $63.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.56% or 0.39 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 8.20 to trade at $1335.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 214.115, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 90.12.
