Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Land & Property, Construction & Engineering and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 24.39% or 5.00 points to end at 25.50 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT), which fell 17.96% or 81.50 points to trade at 372.30 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was down 12.77% or 3.00 points to 20.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 83 to 44 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 5-year lows; up 25.00% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) fell to 3-years lows; falling 17.96% or 81.50 to 372.30. Shares in Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.35% or 1.00 to $73.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.54% or 1.30 to hit $82.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 7.90 to trade at $1197.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 222.950, while USD/LKR rose 0.26% to 170.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 95.65.
