Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL), which rose 0.29% or 0.03 points to trade at 10.38 at the close. Meanwhile, B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 0.29% or 0.004 points to end at 1.400 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 0.13% or 0.015 points to 11.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.05% or 0.232 points to trade at 7.377 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 2.94% or 0.103 points to end at 3.400 and Banco Popular (MC:POP) was down 2.53% or 0.025 points to 0.962.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 33 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.66% or 7.85 to $1198.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.98% or 0.52 to hit $52.65 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.35 to trade at $55.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.0696, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 100.39.
