Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 3.10% or 0.565 points to trade at 18.790 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 2.72% or 0.315 points to end at 11.900 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 2.06% or 0.540 points to 26.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE), which fell 1.48% or 0.300 points to trade at 20.040 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 1.41% or 0.097 points to end at 6.770 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) was down 1.13% or 0.092 points to 8.019.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 96 to 67 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.06% or 0.540 to 26.800.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.52% or 6.54 to $1252.34 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.58% or 0.67 to hit $43.20 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 0.80 to trade at $45.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1152, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 97.26.
