Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 1.66% or 0.087 points to trade at 5.341 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) added 1.14% or 0.170 points to end at 15.130 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 0.99% or 0.130 points to 13.195 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL), which fell 1.33% or 0.14 points to trade at 10.40 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 1.14% or 0.083 points to end at 7.183 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was down 0.86% or 0.090 points to 10.420.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 87 to 76 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.14% or 0.170 to 15.130.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.36% or 4.55 to $1251.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.05% or 0.99 to hit $49.36 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 0.96 to trade at $52.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8669.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 99.92.
