Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Enagas (MC:ENAG), which rose 1.24% or 0.295 points to trade at 24.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Iberdrola (MC:IBE) added 1.10% or 0.066 points to end at 6.058 and Gas Natural (MC:GAS) was up 1.04% or 0.180 points to 17.425 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which fell 6.72% or 0.890 points to trade at 12.350 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 3.47% or 0.268 points to end at 7.449 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 3.24% or 0.365 points to 10.895.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 96 to 68 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.40 to $1201.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.47% or 0.77 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 0.99 to trade at $56.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.0658, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.66% at 101.03.
