Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which rose 1.46% or 0.135 points to trade at 9.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 1.05% or 0.23 points to end at 22.23 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 0.97% or 0.250 points to 25.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inditex (MC:ITX), which fell 5.90% or 1.670 points to trade at 26.620 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 1.15% or 0.026 points to end at 2.240 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 0.99% or 0.110 points to 10.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 103 to 69 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.10 to $1211.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.98% or 0.67 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.73 to trade at $77.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1699, while EUR/GBP fell 0.90% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.56.
