Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (BME:MAP), which rose 1.80% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Telefonica (BME:TEF) added 1.59% or 0.07 points to end at 4.54 and Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) was up 1.58% or 0.11 points to 6.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which fell 2.82% or 0.18 points to trade at 6.33 at the close. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 2.55% or 0.22 points to end at 8.33 and Acciona (BME:ANA) was down 2.08% or 2.70 points to 126.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 98 to 98 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mapfre (BME:MAP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.80% or 0.06 to 3.28. Shares in Telefonica (BME:TEF) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.59% or 0.07 to 4.54.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.48% or 82.36 to $3,404.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.36% or 2.49 to hit $59.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.95% or 2.38 to trade at $62.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 99.35.
