Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 4.73% or 0.341 points to trade at 7.550 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 2.30% or 0.124 points to end at 5.513 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.87% or 0.235 points to 12.825 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular (MC:POP), which fell 2.70% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.973 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 2.25% or 1.100 points to end at 47.860 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 1.72% or 0.345 points to 19.685.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 84 to 77 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.15% or 1.75 to $1183.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.00% or 0.52 to hit $51.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.66 to trade at $54.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0556, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8686.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 102.04.
