Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 2.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 7.10% or 0.132 points to trade at 1.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.31% or 0.225 points to end at 4.463 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 5.16% or 0.173 points to 3.523 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which fell 0.11% or 0.030 points to trade at 27.070 at the close. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.04% or 0.003 points to end at 7.593 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 0.11% or 0.030 points to 27.015.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 168 to 28 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.40% or 5.45 to $1356.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.23 to trade at $46.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1046, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.8532.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.40.
