Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 5.79% or 0.292 points to trade at 5.334 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 4.97% or 0.076 points to end at 1.605 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 4.04% or 0.389 points to 10.015 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 0.25% or 0.050 points to trade at 20.120 at the close. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.01% or 0.001 points to end at 7.586 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) was up 0.08% or 0.005 points to 6.516.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 170 to 31 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.43% or 5.30 to $1242.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.52% or 2.43 to hit $39.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.21% or 2.45 to trade at $41.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8079.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 94.18.
