Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.58% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 5.96% or 0.615 points to trade at 10.925 at the close. Meanwhile, Acciona (MC:ANA) added 5.53% or 3.570 points to end at 68.170 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) was up 2.98% or 0.154 points to 5.327 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.26% or 0.252 points to trade at 7.472 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.04% or 0.180 points to end at 17.185 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 0.45% or 0.045 points to 10.005.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 108 to 52 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.67% or 7.85 to $1157.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.12 to trade at $55.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8384.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 101.06.
