Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 3.01% or 0.093 points to trade at 3.183 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 2.74% or 0.310 points to end at 11.610 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 2.71% or 0.485 points to 18.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which fell 1.42% or 0.295 points to trade at 20.450 at the close. Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) declined 1.25% or 0.170 points to end at 13.410 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was down 0.69% or 0.140 points to 20.210.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 56 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.54% or 6.73 to $1249.77 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.80% or 0.36 to hit $44.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.34 to trade at $47.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8760.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 97.13.
