Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 0.56%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.56%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which rose 2.09% or 0.425 points to trade at 20.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 1.94% or 1.040 points to end at 54.620 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 1.81% or 0.960 points to 54.040 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which fell 2.06% or 0.084 points to trade at 4.001 at the close. Gamesa (MC:GAM) declined 1.95% or 0.385 points to end at 19.345 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was down 1.57% or 0.180 points to 11.300.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 112 to 59 and 13 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ferrovial (MC:FER) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.09% or 0.425 to 20.750. Shares in Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) rose to all time highs; up 1.81% or 0.960 to 54.040.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.87 to $1256.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.63% or 0.28 to hit $44.74 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.42 to trade at $47.34 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1189, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8754.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.19.
