Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Iberdrola (MC:IBE), which rose 1.55% or 0.108 points to trade at 7.063 at the close. Meanwhile, Acciona (MC:ANA) added 1.51% or 1.240 points to end at 83.400 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was up 1.47% or 2.50 points to 172.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 2.04% or 0.410 points to trade at 19.640 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.59% or 0.575 points to end at 35.535 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was down 1.24% or 0.013 points to 1.038.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 69 and 17 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.47 to $1255.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.70% or 1.90 to hit $49.46 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.41% or 1.84 to trade at $52.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1219, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8657.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 97.04.
