Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which rose 6.39% or 0.184 points to trade at 3.064 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MADRID:SCYR) added 3.71% or 0.149 points to end at 4.170 and Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) was up 1.78% or 0.335 points to 19.140 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MADRID:MAP), which fell 0.80% or 0.026 points to trade at 3.222 at the close. Inditex (MADRID:ITX) declined 0.61% or 0.177 points to end at 28.867 and BBVA (MADRID:BBVA) was down 0.51% or 0.046 points to 9.085.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 142 to 69 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.61% or 7.30 to $1181.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.71% or 0.42 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.70 to trade at $65.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1150, while EUR/GBP fell 1.37% to 0.7153.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.13.
