Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 2.69% or 0.131 points to trade at 5.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Iberdrola (MC:IBE) added 2.50% or 0.152 points to end at 6.235 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 1.80% or 0.168 points to 9.518 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which fell 2.56% or 0.037 points to trade at 1.407 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 2.03% or 0.175 points to end at 8.436 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 1.96% or 0.215 points to 10.760.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 92 to 69 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iberdrola (MC:IBE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.50% or 0.152 to 6.235.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.41% or 17.45 to $1250.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.59% or 0.85 to hit $54.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.74 to trade at $56.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8428.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.99.
