Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MC:ANA), which rose 1.65% or 1.280 points to trade at 78.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) added 1.21% or 0.220 points to end at 18.415 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 0.87% or 0.065 points to 7.505 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which fell 3.42% or 1.890 points to trade at 53.390 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 3.02% or 0.218 points to end at 7.005 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was down 1.46% or 0.185 points to 12.515.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 104 to 60 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Acciona (MC:ANA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.65% or 1.280 to 78.830.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.54% or 6.85 to $1250.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $50.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8456.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 98.94.
