Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankia (MC:BKIA), which rose 2.10% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.779 at the close. Meanwhile, Gamesa (MC:GAM) added 1.53% or 0.265 points to end at 17.600 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was up 1.44% or 0.145 points to 10.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL), which fell 1.43% or 0.14 points to trade at 9.70 at the close. Sacyr (MC:SCYR) declined 1.36% or 0.024 points to end at 1.738 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was down 1.33% or 0.062 points to 4.613.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 101 to 91 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.84% or 23.45 to $1295.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.08% or 0.48 to hit $44.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.29% or 0.58 to trade at $45.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1426, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.7909.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.64.
