Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 4.60%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which rose 7.68% or 1.42 points to trade at 19.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankinter (BME:BKT) added 7.51% or 0.65 points to end at 9.28 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was up 6.73% or 0.15 points to 2.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (BME:TEF), which rose 1.57% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.95 at the close. Repsol (BME:REP) added 1.92% or 0.18 points to end at 9.76 and Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) was up 2.13% or 0.38 points to 18.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 179 to 15 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.13% or 96.39 to $3,175.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.70% or 2.93 to hit $59.42 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 4.17% or 2.73 to trade at $62.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 2.18% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP rose 1.28% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.78% at 100.80.
