Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 2.72% or 1.680 points to trade at 63.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 2.67% or 0.256 points to end at 9.830 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 2.16% or 0.250 points to 11.820 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 0.92% or 0.265 points to trade at 28.390 at the close. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.08% or 0.015 points to end at 18.290 and Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) was down 0.05% or 0.010 points to 18.680.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 122 to 51 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) rose to all time highs; rising 2.72% or 1.680 to 63.500.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1322.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.97% or 0.60 to hit $61.41 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.40 to trade at $67.67 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2044, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8878.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 91.69.
