Trump announces 50% tariff on copper, effective August 1
Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 2.33% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Santander (BME:SAN) added 1.59% or 0.11 points to end at 6.90 and Iberdrola (BME:IBE) was up 1.26% or 0.21 points to 16.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telefonica (BME:TEF), which fell 0.31% or 0.01 points to trade at 4.56 at the close. Logista (BME:LOG) declined 0.21% or 0.06 points to end at 27.86 and Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) was down 0.05% or 0.01 points to 18.27.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 108 to 65 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iberdrola (BME:IBE) rose to all time highs; rising 1.26% or 0.21 to 16.44.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.68% or 23.30 to $3,384.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $73.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.87% or 2.26 to trade at $76.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 98.29.
